Something i wrote after looking at what little i see of the world.
A voice once said
“Dare we dream?”
I knew the intention,
Its kind I’d seen.
“What good are they, these dreams so vague?
They make us think we cannot fail.
They weaken our sight
And make the world seem bleak and pale.”
The people stood quiet,
The voice was done.
Its mission accomplished
It knew it had won.
But then something happened,
Something quite new.
Someone came forward.
Someone broke through.
They said something simple,
Something profound
“I refuse to stop dreaming”
And he stood his ground.
“Dreams build us up to be better things,
They make us great
They give us wings.”
This someone was right.
They knew their stuff.
This someone was me,
And I’ve had enough.
Enough of faithless people,
Just shuffling through life.
Enough of not being happy.
Enough of the strife.
I have a simple choice,
We all do it seems.
We all must choose,
Do we believe in our dreams?
I know I do,
Its how I get by.
And its how I will live,
At least till I die.
