It's hard to understand when someone we love dies.
I see the tears of sorrow fall
in shattered words unspoken;
fearing lonely nights to come
with only a spirit broken.

You scream at God, "He was too young!
You had no right to take him!
And what of our bleeding hearts, oh Lord?
Will You give us no balm to heal them?"

Although my time on earth was short,
I'm home and watching over you;
each time you keep my memory alive,
the love we share shines through.

Though you grieve for the love you lost
and long for my warm embrace,
know that Jesus is by your side-
lifting your grief by His grace.

*Dedicated to my best friend, Justin Folsom,
and all who have lost someone they love.
