The main character describes a mysterious man she sees on the street.
Like fog at dawn or the middle of the night
You disappear before the first ray of light
You are elusive as you wonder the street
Nary a sound comes from beneath your feet

Your eyes are hidden behind your jet black hair
Behind the mask, I can feel your stare
As I walk closer with growing fright
You dive into the shadows, out of sight

The next night, I come to find you
There you were, but away you flew
I scream for you, although I don't know your name
I stood there waiting, but no response came

Another night comes, and I leave home
I journey into the jungle of glimmering chrome
My mission is to find this mysterious man
Before he slips through my fingers like trickling sand

I spot you on the corner of 37th and Main
My adrenaline and elation is hard to explain
But I cannot stare for long
Within a moment you could be gone

I sneak up the street
But fast enough so I will not meet defeat
Dodging pedestrians that block my way
Making sure none of them cause me a delay

You control me
You captivate me
You mesmerize me
You inspire me

I can see you
I can smell your cologne
You are standing there
You are gone
