Traffic lights that stop all
Hold my soul and mind in thrall
And pop the clutch, you will stall
Or open the door and you will fall
Grab the wheel and make your turn
Either way will cause the burn
Going straight is hard for some to discern
So in reverse is how you will learn
The mirrors cause reflections that show
What's around so you will know
Not to wreck and have a tow
But do you know the way to go?
Shifting gears is sometimes smooth, then
It helps you when you race to win
Whether a scoop or a rear fin
Is your engine making that noisy din?
Or is it you whining so loud...?
You're inside protected from cloud
Why are you wearing a shroud?
It's your wedding day-you should be proud.
Don't you see it written on the back
With cans behind that show you crack
At least you're not working on the track
With skin so white that looks so black.
Now don't worry if you break the glass
It's a shield-but it won't help you pass
Should've spent more time in class
Then you wouldn't drive with so much sass
And when you're so very tired of tires
That blow when their life expires
And that electrical system full of wires
That short-circuits and starts fires
It kind of sounds like life-right?
Even the switches for the light
That you shine when it is night
And you need some help with your sight
And when you crash and have to be
In repairs and then pay a fee
It kind of sounds like you and me
Do you see it like I see?
On the road of life you drive
YOU are the vehicle and you try to survive
So many others- it's like a bee-hive
Blinking, turning, stopping, going, hoping to stay alive.
So don't wander aimlessly all about
If you get lost don't sit and pout
Going the wrong way? Don't yell or shout...
When you see it like that you've figured it all out.
