Always stand for what you feel is right
I stand
On this open field
As the summer wind flies by
Like another wasted life
Sifting particles of everything
To form some kind of anything
And fill this gaping void
I stand
On the top of this Metropolis
Drowning in a rain of tears
That sinks into my skin
Bringing back life again
Never say forgotten
I stand
Looking into the restless night
With ears clear and sensitive
To the almost imperceptible
Crying of a child
I stand
In a beautiful paradise
Of paved roads and buildings
That scrape their way into the sky
Peacefully oblivious
To the world we left behind
I stand
On the brink of transformation,
Ready to take action or a fall.
For those who have seen and lived
This is just another sunrise,
But it illuminates my path
Through the warped metal jungle,
The gorgeous talking heads,
To a place of resurrection.
I stand
On the edge of a tomorrow
Far better than today
So when I feel these tears
I will take my wings and fly
On the gentle summer wind
To comfort a crying child
Who I will never leave behind
I stand
To fight for their survival
To never watch another baby die
I stand
On my own two feet
Waiting for my one
to be joined by many
