Disconnect is about Addiction, enviromental side affects and the way forward.
You lie, you steal, you cheat.
You cheat yourself and all around
You take without thought or consideration,
Consideration of self or any living creature.
You crave, crave without thought
A mind so numbed of thought, your existence is still.
Still, silent, madness
Madness that will drive you to your grave
Do you crave your madness, this lifestyle?
A lifestyle of hell, your choice
As you slither within the dark shadow of your being
What will you find?
There are no feelings; feelings bring emotions,
You shedded these long ago
As your skin hardens it sheds, left is a shadow
A shadow that reflects what was once, and now is
You crave light, love, and laughter
But the shadow of you has taken control
Control of your very being
You cry within; without knowledge
Numb, disconnected, turmoil
Shallow, sly, sneaky
Like a scavenger scowling all around
You watch your back, paranoid
Paranoid within and without
Within your mind, lies deceit
Without, who and how many can tell
A lie covers another and another
Until you reach the point of no return
Where will you go, what will you say?
They lie around your neck like a noose
It strangles, entwines, cutting deep into your soul
A soul that has forgot its heart
Yet this heavy heart, yearns
Living in the distant past of twisted reality
He remembers the bad for blame sake
That child within screams for help, that little boy
He needs fun, love and laughter, but the shadow
The shadow hides his face, darkening his presence
Run child, run
Brake out of your cocoon and re-find your wings
Fly high, in light, love and laughter
Leave behind, the shell, the snake, the lifestyle
It may travel beside you within reality
Embrace it, accept it - let it go
Lies tangle.
Truth sets you free.
