Just a poem I wrote while musing.
Walking through the forest
dusk hangs in the air.
Weight of oppressive silence
time stands still.

Sanity pleads for progression;
sense pleads for comfort.
Path behind blurred;
path ahead hidden.

Slowly body complies
to sanity's logic.
Reason of sense
left behind.

Smoke in the distance
from chimney or campfire uncertain.
Momentum pushes forward
sight still obscured.

Path ahead remains mystery
results of stopping
Inevitable
