What choice do you have when lost in the desert
Standing there on a sandy brim,
The endless desert looks very grim.
The horizon's edge is well unclear.
Like staring into a giant mirror.

The scorching heat now magnified,
As the sandy wind blew each hour by.
Without shelter for him to take,
The deadly heat keeps him awake.

Forcing each step to continue forth.
Hoping his direction is headed north.
Further he walks from where he should be.
Walking as far as his eye can see.

Tired of searching for the way he'd come.
Trying to cause this curse undone.
His experience too hard to believe.
He finally collapses to his knees.

The sun beats hard upon his back,
Causing his mind to loosen slack.
Losing the truth within his sight.
He sees through the eyes of light.

His mind begins to hallucinate.
These visions are strange, but ornate.
Tropical beaches are what he sees.
Plenty of water with a cool, soft breeze.

Without the choice for him to make.
Hopelessly needing for his body's sake.
Causing him to be a desperate man,
As the water he drinks is the desert sand.
