This poem is about young boy who doesn't want to face life's challenges...
Why, little boy?
Sara Strauss

What’s wrong, little boy?
Can’t you see that I’m trying to help you?
Give me your hand.
Let me bring you to a better place.
No?
What’s wrong, little boy?

Why are you crying, little boy?
Let me wipe away your tears.
I’ll help you see through your blurred eyes.
I can show you something better.
No?
Why are you crying, little boy?

Why are your hands bloody, little boy?
Let me wash away the blood that has stained you hands.
Let me help you see that messes can be mended.
I’ll help you forget all of this.
No?
Why are your hands bloody, little boy?

Why are you running, little boy?
The knees of your pants are torn.
Have you fallen?
I can help you see a better day.
Let me take you away from here.
No?
Why are you running, little boy?

Why do you have scars, little boy?
I can help you heal them.
I can take away the pain they left behind.
All you have to do is let me in.
Why won’t you let me in, little boy?
