This poem is about getting over a difficult time and thinking back on how far I had come.
Another day,
Another chance,
I feel alive,
Eagerly I await possibilities like a child on Christmas morning,
Oh what a beloved life I have left behind me,
Rich adventures, fiery emotion,
But these tiresome fears and restraints!
Stinging, sharp pebbles on the warm summer sidewalk,
But I don't care-- I'll ignore them,
I'll run faster and they won't stop me,
I want to live, to glow,
To throw myself into the strong flowing wind and fly
These painful blows that once seemed so sharp and incurable are delicately healed,
I fell fresh, anew and reborn,
They aren't bitterly perceived, just rememebered and they've taught me well,
And the recognition makes me light and nimble,
So light that Gravity has all but given up on his attempts to retrain me,
For I run and bound so fiercely!
To think:
Another chance,
Another day
