getting over an old love
I see you now, acting like nothing can go wrong,
You so far, so gaily in the sun,
And every step you take together makes you closer,
And every sweet word you utter,
Makes her strong heart flutter,
Makes her melt and stutter,
For you.

I hear a lover's lullaby,
And a tear crawls from my swollen eyes,
And I reenact every memory in detail,
And everything we've done,
Well, it's like you were my sun,
But I've only just begun,
My life.

And I want to carry on,
To smile and be strong,
To bravely face the dawn,
Without a flinch.

And I want to just forget you,
Make it like I never met you,
Make it like I never let you,
Worm your way into my heart.

But I guess that's just a daydream,
Like the love inside my head,
That says you want me there instead,
When I know she's on your mind.

I'm sure I love you now,
But its jut a lingering thought,
I remember you in pieces,
A memory I have sought.

And every day brings me farther,
Every hour makes me safer,
Every moment makes it clearer,
You're only mine now, to remember.
