A poem from an outer world being to humanity.
Dear humanity,
What is going on
With this crazy
Mixed up world?
Why does no one care
That from this point of view
The world looks,
As if it were run by animals?

Running around
In a madness
You attack for land and power.
You call the wild creatures
That do these
Very things, beasts
And yet you do the same.

I thought the basic emotion
Was love not hate.
But perhaps I was confused
It does happen at times.

If this is so
You are a more
Much more
Primitive planet than thought.
Isn’t it obvious
Life could be much better
If you could learn to love.

It seems to me
That the problem lies in
Being overly concerned
With being the best.
You count only
the things you want
while forgetting
things you have.
And while you count
There are those who dream
Of only a few
Of the things you forget.

I can’t believe
The wonderful world
Heard all about
Is this one before mine eyes.
If you could see from
Here what I see
Perhaps you’d understand.

I hope for your sake
That you will not be
So arrogant as to
Ignore these words I say so
Rashly throw them all away

If you are
I’m afraid there’s
Nothing to be done.
Your world will end
In nothing but
Doom, and misery
