Its noticing the markers of where people died in car accidents..

Highway transfiguration into an abyss of dreariness, Purged.
A functional tombstone; A make shift cross.
An emotional emphatic wooden symbol of commemoration.
A monolith of unanswered questions. "Why?"
A memory of death;  A smudge on life, lived.

Flowers only beautify deaths harsh attentiveness on these highways.
We offer woeful sighs and bleak prayers. . .
But when the traffic light changes,

Life goes on.
