The silken streams of moonbeams are....
Dawn

The silken streams of moonbeams are
fragmented as the morning star
gives up the velvet black night skies
to first light.  Then, with open eyes
I face the day.  Nightmares dwindle
as the dawn brings heat to kindle
fires that burn bright in this cold heart
and melt the ice that's formed round cupid's dart.

Now, in the daylight all my fear
is washed away and when I hear
his haunting voice, I go to him.
His lustre makes all else seem dim
when placed beside mere mortal man.
Held close within his arms, I can
forestall the night and all it's fears,
hold back the dark and brush away my tears
