An example of a poem I wrote a few years ago. Originally a persona poem.
Hope that time will soon fly by,
it seems to go by so slow.
Nothing to see, nothing to do, just stare,
stare  at the plain wall.
Stare at the blank television,
stare out as the snowwastes away,
it streams away like my life,
it soaks into the frozen ground
faster than my time.

The pain inside blurs everything,
my eyes water like a leaky faucet,
my stomach turns.
The pills don't help,
the pain still lingers.
This hospital bed creaks with
every painful movement I make.
The pain shrills and shrieks,
for attention.
Screams how it's invincible
it will never end.
It screams out one more time.
One more time
as I take my last breath.
