Poem I wrote a few years ago about Halloween.
The kids drive past the graveyard,
they stop their chatter.
The graveyard was all aglow,
as the moonlight hit the fog.
The bright moon, clouds over
as spirits come out.

A hand reaches out of the ground
grasps for another chance at life.
A black cat screeches, the sound echoes
throughout the air like a gunshot
which shatters my brain.

A ghost all aghast appears to fly
from the ground.
It heads straight for the car,
the driver speeds up
in an attempt to get away
but the graveyard seems like it goes on
for all eternity.

The car screeches to a halt.

I close my eyes about to scream,
at the fear of death,
on All Hallows Eve.
