My poem is dedicated to the orignal series of Star Trek's Montgomery Scott, the engineer.
Scotty, the Engineer

There's a little boy from Scotland
Who loved to play with toys.
He'd take apart an engine when
He heard an unusual noise.

The boy was such a wonder,
That his mind could grasp a link.
He could find a fault with electronics,
Before the others could even blink.

His years were spent in learning
About the electronics he always loved.
He dreamed of matters bigger
To those flying machines above.

He passed each challenge with confidence.
His wish to fly came true.
He stepped aboard the Enterprise,
And made friends with the ship's great crew.

His nickname was known as Scotty.
Montgomery Scott was proud of the fact.
His home was Enterprise's engine room
Showing enthusiasm he never lacked.

He cared for the dilithium crystals.
Each power junction he kept on line.
He listened for any odd knocking.
And the smallest sub-standard whine.

His heart was always from Scotland.
He believed that he was meant to fly.
As the finest engineer from Star Fleet Academy.
And go to sleep hearing the engine's sweet lullaby.
