A poem about a Teddy Bear who won't go missing again...
I had a bear called Teddy,
Not original I know,
But he was my bestest friend
And I loved him so.

He was kind of grey and grubby,
One eye was falling out.
He had seen better days,
Of that there was no doubt.

I think he'd lost a little weight
As the years had passed,
He wasn't quite as fluffy
And nowhere near as fast.

We went one day to the strawberry field,
My family and me,
And picked a load of strawberries
To eat for evening tea.

And that's where I lost Teddy,
I just didn't see him go.
He had made his great escape
But why I do not know.

I always tried to care for him
I'd tuck him up in bed,
I always listened when he spoke
To every word he said.

But he must have had a deeper need
Of which I was unaware.
I just wish he would have told me.
I miss you, Teddy Bear.

But then a year ago
Came a knocking on the door
And there was my old Teddy
Just like he was before

You may think perhaps
I've lost that loving feeling
But he's not going anywhere
Now I've taped him to the ceiling.
