In a post-apocalyptic world, a young man seeks revenge for the death of his family
Is it vengeance that I feel
or honor for my soul
the feelings, so unreal
projecting to one goal

Hindsight floods my mind
visions of a past,
peace I'll never find
so long as they shall last

Some call it 'justice'
others call it 'crime'
I call it 'retribution'
to bring me peace of mind

Feelings so confusing
controlling my persistence
often quite abusing
to my sole existence

So now I make my decision
between the other's 'right and wrong'
there can be no conditions
for death's haunting song

I have him in my sights
as I raise the rifle to
he stands under the lights
'my vengeance is on you'

This is for my father
no mercy did you show
this is for my mother
whose spirit you let go

You didn't count on me
returning home so soon
you never thought you'd see
your close approaching doom

You ran like a coward, you are
when you found you could be beat
you traveled back to your star
escaping the reapers feet

Yet I tracked you down
like a hunter to his prey
I vowed that you'd go down
some very dark dark day

When we clashed once more
our swords glistening bright
I came to settle the score
but all you knew was fright

You ran again and got away
I searched for you once more
this time I'll have my way
and settle this prolonging score

I raise the rifle to my eye
and zero in on your head
I squeeze the trigger to make you die
and now my soul is dead.
