Poem about two lovers grown apart
We met just once
introduced by our friends,
from that moment forward
I knew we'd never end

As I grew to know you
the feeling became more right,
we were becoming closer,
another path in sight

I'm happy I chose that route
and I believe it in my heart,
Baby, we're right for each other,
let us never be torn apart

We became more than lovers,
there was another feeling too.
Everything I felt
I knew I felt through you.

How beautiful it was,
I don't know what went wrong,
we were more than lovers,
til the bird couldn't sing our song

We tried again, with our hearts,
but things just weren't the same.
I was still in love, I knew
when the wind whispered your name.

When I saw you again
you were a vision to me.
I knew the love we had before,
I just hoped that you would see.

We both deep down knew
that we couldn't try,
we just turned our backs
and silently started to cry.

We knew our love was strong enough
for us to become friends,
I guess I was right before,
I knew we'd never end.
