That big silver thing in the night sky! REVISED EDITION
She’s a crazy moon
Dangling in her sky,
Smearing her makeup
Laughing with one eye,

Pulling back the oceans,
Throwing glitter on the sands,
Making silhouettes of clouds,
Laying spells with silver hands.

Listening to the priestess song
She calls her sisters near,
Inviting then to dance
Like sprinkled champagne drops or tears;

To shimmer on the turtle eggs
And guide the tall ships home,
Make truth of dreams or wishes,
To sweeten honeycomb.

Then pulling on her cloak of dawn
She gently fades away,
To work her silent magic
Through the sunlit hours of day.
