A poem about leaving the world too soon and saying how much I loved someone.
I painted for you a portrait
Of my most romantic dream
Wrapped it in a bed sheet
And hid it beneath the cellar stairs
In hopes that you would never look there.

It's a picture of us dancing
In a garden you planted just for me
You remembered my favorite flowers
Yellow roses, glorious carnations
In every color of which you could think.

I was hoping to give you this one day
Hoped to prove to you in some special way
When I just couldn't find the words to say
I'm still madly in love with you.

I guess that if you're reading this
I'm no longer within your reach
And if there's one thing I need you to know
I am missing you too.
