This is my way of explaining the rejection of Christ.
“Extra! Extra! Read the story!” shouted the Martian boy.
“I’ll take one.” “Fifty credits, and Earth’s story you’ll really enjoy.”

The man opened the paper and scanned the page the boy had said was good
After a glance he then moved on, but he had misunderstood.

He read the sports and world events; things that affected him
At the end of the day he threw the paper away leaving Earth’s story only skimmed.

What he didn’t get was what the story told and how it would change life’s course
See in that story, if one carefully read, unfolded love’s powerful force.

It spoke of a man who did wondrous things to save the human race
Their killing sin was conquering them so he provides eternal life through grace.

The ultimate sacrifice he had made to keep them from their doom.
He lived in their world, died on a cross, and spent three days in a tomb.

He rose again at the call of God to speak and breathe once more.
Then ascended up to heaven’s gates, the place he lived before.

The Martian did not know what he had thrown away,
His simple excuse was that the story was the same as yesterday’s.

The gift of life is held before you; do not let it pass.
Reach for things that really matter, treasures that will last.

Here’s the story, lightly put, but carefully read it through.
Unlike the sports and other things, it really does affect you.
