A woman and her old flame see each other one more time
DARLING

Darling, nice to see you once more,
Still handsome as you were before,
And how your voice still sounds so good,
Just to hear you lifts up my mood

It's been six months since we've last met,
Six months since the day we parted,
Oh darling, oh how I missed you,
Are those feelings still warm and true?

Are your fingers still strumming strings,
Playing the guitar as you sing?
Does your voice still make one shiver,
As you sing of love forever?

But now those words you dedicate,
To another you met by fate,
But never worry, my darling
Never will I bear such feeling

Oh darling, how is life away,
From true friends you had yesterday?
I'm sure they miss you oh so much,
The same way I yearn for your touch

How am I, my darling, you ask?
In found happiness I now bask,
Happiness in where I am now,
But I still miss you anyhow

Oh darling, it is getting late,
Oh I really wish to thank fate,
For bringing us close together,
How I wish this be forever

But darling, your mem'ries are gone,
No darling, don't feel sad and wan,
For in my heart you still are there,
And for you I'll always take care

Please return to that lucky girl,
Your precious love, your shining pearl,
Don't worry darling, leave me now,
How she needs you more anyhow

Oh darling, don't let her wait
For she'll wait until the night's late
Go, and let this be yesterday,
And let this day pass all the way

Darling, just this before you go,
Please forget whatever you saw,
And let me live my life anew,
For I have long forgotten you...

For I have long forgotten you...
