A Campfire Creative Poem.
In total darkness I faltered alone,
stepping over the dead around me.
Amongst a field where bodies lay prone,
while sinking in mud to my knees.

What is this muddy field of death?
And why am I struggling here?
Amid the stillness only my breath.
Curiously, I remain without fear.

Across the field I see a bright light,
pulling me with white radiant force.
Peacefully knowing that I am alright,
seeking only to find out the source.

Struggling past many who've fallen
Unaware the outcome of my plight.
Leaving behind all that was sullen,
drawn on to the White of the Light.

Standing amidst the bright horizon,
stood One with His arms outstretched.
Glowing with such brilliant pure blazon,
forever in mind, this image was etched.

Exuding warmth from His essence,
making me feel like my soul was set free.
My voice thundered out of the silence -
Wait for me! Wait for me!

Awakening now, I must've been dreaming,
yet feels like it was so very real.
More a vision of the Savior it's seeming,
coming someday all my sins He'll reveal.
