a poem I wrote for her but she'll never know
Words flow like the finest of wines
And I have loved you all this time
I closed my mouth and endured
As much as I would have liked to have it heard
Was I ashamed?
Maybe I thought others wouldn't see me the same
Does it matter?
Prehaps I am as mad as a hatter
Music drifts through my ears
And I wish I didn't have peers
To judge and decide how I should live my life
I've never been one to pick up a knife
You cross back and forth
Living your life for what it's worth
If I had your strength, your lack of care
You would know what I wouldn't tell on a dare
What would your reaction be
If you know what lurks within me?
Would you flee and run or ignore?
Or would you allow me to open that particular door?
What that door may be hiding scares me and thrills me
But I doubt it ever will be
