Nature/Love Poem
The summer heat beats down
but thankfully were covered in shade.

The grass beneath us shines bright
and in ten more minutes we'll be late.

His breath is sweet as he leans closer
and the kiss is soft and perfect, our first.

His hands brush my cheeks and my eyelash's flutter.
Our hearts are joined in a flawless fraction of time.

Then the perfection shatters as he whispers
he has to leave for 3 months. That's his line.

I pull away and the monsoon winds begin
to rustle the hair that falls in my face.

Tears rain down my cheeks, I'm used again.
i thought i could trust but I'm filled with distaste.

Strong hands grip my shoulders, attempting to reassure
but years of pure instinct urge my resistance.

The rain begins to fall as the sun disappears
taking with it my last piece of trust and all love is past-tense.
Im used.
