The Enemy

On my knees I’m begging, pleading:
Vanish
         Disappear
                       Evaporate
                                       Leave!
Let me love me again
Give me back who I was,
You can keep the rest

Tear drops, a scream, a shout
Any signal of resentment
Draws you in
Like the irritating buzzing insect
Flying in to damage fragile skin

In attempt at peace
I reach to crush you
And your vicious plot
But the only breathing thing that
I am ever able to hurt

Is myself in the end.
