Blood races
through my veins
Fear lurks, heavy in a corner
Two lips push against obstruction
A faint plea for help
barely escapes this penitentiary
Unheard, the ever-present Enemy
inflicts
pain
A rusted silver blade
Creeps
closer and closer
toward unsuspecting flesh
Fingernails ladder down my face,
and they are
Mine
