The last summer.
As we were young, the world had never seemed so large, familiar corners reaching to unfamiliar destinies. Down every street we found another place, another world, another fortress to call our own. The names of these sanctums came to vary over time and age, their surroundings and facets changing as well. One day a hill may be an acropolis, the next day turning it to be an exotic island, lightly emerged from a deepest sea. The world was ours and we told no one. The world was ours and we were god.
