My description of nuclear war
The sky was brightened just like the sun,
I didn’t even think to turn and run.

The roar of the blast made me step back,
The ground beneath me began to crack.

I stood there watching the cloud rise,
Things were burning right before my eyes.

The heat began to tear through my skin.
This was a battle that no one could win,

There was no way for me to put up a fight,
In essence I was dead when I saw the light.

A fraction of a second or blink of an eye,
Was all that it took for millions to die.

The day has come it’s too late now,
I would save the world if I knew how.

I hope and pray that sometime tomorrow,
Life will not be filled with pain and sorrow.
