a very creative short work that embodies an entire relationship in a few phone calls
Hello? It’s me, pick up the phone.
Hello? Good day, how are you?
What thrills you?
What makes you yell?
What scares you?
What makes you breathe?
Can you hear me?
Can you love me?

Hello? It’s me again.
Hello? I know it’s late.
What do I want?
Oh, nothing.
I just like to know you’re there.
What guides you?
What makes you so?
What worries you?
What are your dreams?

Hello? I call once more.
Hello? I need you.
Did you forget me?
Am I replaced so soon?
Do you check your messages, anyway?
Can you talk?
Or is your voice the “beep”?
I’m tired of wondering.
Do you even care?

Hello? Don’t go.
Hello? Don’t leave me.
But why?
Is it something I said?
But why?
Is it something I did?
Do you need something more than my voice on the phone?
Do I need something more than your silence?

Does every hello end with good-bye?
Can you hear me?
Do you care?
Can you love me?
Is this beyond repair?
Does every hello end with good-bye?
