Losing love.
Grains of sand run through your fingers,

as swift as the southern winds brush through the night.

and when colored daffodils danced on her hair,

i could see she was the love of your life....

For my heart is deeply burned and troubled,

with a collage of clowns on neon lights and painted smiles.

i forever be at the mercy of her memory,

leaning on hope for a single chance.

So let the jester learn his tricks

make the actor master his lines

for my weakened soul is in love with you..

i implore your heart to be kind.

***

But with tired mind and beseeching voice

loses and defeat have been clearly defined..

so on bended knees i loosen my grasp.

like red and yellow butterflies freed into the world..

fly to her,

fly for her...

for her, who is still the love of your life.
