A short poem.
I am 22 today and managed to fill a sushi bar with friends that never co-exist and the different pods throughout the bar have me skipping like stones on the water, barely skimming the surface of any conversation.

You are by my side, new to town but frequent in my heart- I hold your hand for a while but soon let it fall. There are too many stones to skip, and i need the other hand for my chopsticks and icy drinks and warm greetings for friends that somehow skipped you.

We haven't had your birthday yet but I want to make you feel special with more of my hands and eyes and heart then you know what to do with, I'll toss out my shoulder because it was never any good any way and apologize that it took from my birthday till yours to realize

and say I'm sorry
