A poem about an old relationship of mine
As secretive as an old woman, she shows no signs of stopping.
I'm desperate for an answer, but she gives no reply.
I've never been as happy as I once was.

Walking with temptations I keep inside, my heart beats like a drum.
I'm faking what we have, because we'll never be the same.
I want you to be as happy and I once was.

Every time I look at you, I stumble on my feet.
I know this could never work, but it's always worth a try.
I hope we could be as happy as we once were.

We'd be perfect together, forever by my side.
I'm always ready to be there, especially in the hardest times.
If we were together we'd be as happy as we once were.

Together again, it would never be the same.
I realize this, but my heart tells me otherwise.
I know we could never be as happy as before.
