Progression of a relationship
Dance
Dance the night away with me

Forget all I’ve done wrong dear,
Hold me close,
Don’t you dare let me fall.

Remember all the sweet smells of my hair,
Remember how many times you said you love me…

I’m sorry I stepped on your feet,
You know I’m not a great dancer

When I asked you if you thought about me
You gave me a cold look,
And your grip on me began to loosen

I stepped closer, and whispered, “I love you”
Don’t you remember?

Don’t you remember when you said you’d fight for us always?

I’m not hoarding vengeance

Just look me in the eyes,
Tell me it’s all over,
Let me know that this cold war has ended,
So I can fall into your arms…

I don’t feel your arms around me,
I’m scared.

It’s only me holding on now…

It’s my fault isn’t it?
I let go first without even knowing.

I’m sorry.
