The House of the Sun

The dark vastness of the attic
Around me lingers its dampen smell
While mysteriously hidden niches
Fill the air with a powerful spell.
Stern rods and pillars entwine above,
Errect they bear an inborn pride:
Eternal defiance of the Sun
Against the pilleage of the times.
Layers of tiles spread upon them
Enclosing secrets underneath,
Tears and glory of a kingdom
Which today seem hardly real .
Within brick walls small gaps peep
Through them steady sunrays sneak
Piercing the dark mouldy air
With their sharp powerful flare;
Here I stand in the home of glory-
Think of the wit and wisdom which here bloomed
While only a dainty letter tells the story
Of the house where once Sun ruled …
