This is a poem, in tribute to anyone I have ever lost.
Your bodies lay beneath the dust
Encased in a peaceful sleep
Eyes shut tight, unaware of existence
Silently waiting

Your soul is being guarded
In a place known to God alone
Returned to him, your breath
Silently waiting

Your memories were collected
Stored in a special box
Preserved in private, key locked
Silently waiting

Your thoughts have been recorded
Filed into sections
Placed in the cabinet, unspoken
Silently waiting

Your words echoed loudly
In the ears of the angels
Brought to the Father, every utter
Silently waiting
