A poem to my wife before we both go to Iraq in February.
Hold on for one last moment
before I kiss you goodbye
Your tearing eyes beckon me
Off to war, for you, I'd die

I know we both go together
the sandy hell, the bloody pit
but to be away from you for a second
kills me in every moment

Frozen in time until our sweet November
til our next long kiss
or our next long night
everything about you i will miss

Hold on to me forever
the look beaming in my eyes
my hands belittling yours
my smell, my laugh, my cries

Hold on for one last moment
as I hold your heart in mine
promise that we will come back alive
Serving and waiting on time
