Oblivious

  As the unfiltered rays of warmth
  envelope the vastness
  and the foliage glistens gold
  with morning dew,
  Peace reigns.

  Dawn has awoken,
  sending the night scurrying
  to distant lands
  on the far side of the earth.

  Taking with it seemingly,
  the mysteries that lurk in its darkness.
  Those who remain hidden from the night
  fearful of its unknown,
  now move about freely.

  Oblivious of the shadows
  where mystery still lingers,
  awaiting nights return
  and the cover its blackness brings.
