The Battle of Night and Day commences.
Bells ring in a distant clock tower, signaling the battle.
The shifting sky grazes the horizon with a gentle hand.
Sunlight strokes the land with it's whithering fingers.
Overhead, saturated purple velvet ripples slowly.
Crystal teardrops in the shape of stars begin to glitter.
The stream slows it's tempo to a night-time lullaby.
Shadows spin softly as does the spider and it's silk.
The last note of the last song of the only remaining bird
echos out across the world and then floats away like smoke.
Light makes it's last stand until the final ray is doused.

Now, the night begins it's march to the throne of the sky.
His wise owl eyes gaze out from every dark green tree.
The universe smirks triumphantly at it's own beauty
Light from the sun shields it from sight, but now it shines.
A crown of stars, moons, comets and shadow form.
God lowers this symbol of the kingdom onto his head.
Mist rolls down his back in a cloak of icy fog.
He weilds a septor of smoke and shade and holds it high.
Though the ignorant creatures of the day sleep peacefully,
the earth bows at the feet of night as it begins it's reign.
