This poem is written about my struggle with food
The throat contains a finger
The belly contains food
Soon that will change
And the mind will begin to brood
The belly begins to rumble
Feel the acid churning
There is no food within
The throat still is burning
One bite leads to another
Leading to pounds of fat
Gazing at my clothes
When did I wear that?
Pounds begin to shed
People begin to speak
Yet it is behind closed doors
That the strong become weak
It may seem impossible
Out of sight, behind the border
Yet, behind my happy smile
I have an eating disorder.
