Prelude to a never-before-seen, far away adventure.
With my carry-on bags in tow,
I board the commercial jet airliner;
Looking to cross vast distances
To a thrilling, new vacation destination.
A fun-filled exploration of a
Never-before-seen continent awaits.
A distant country populated
With diverse cultures,
Ancient arts and sculpture,
And lush, picturesque scenes.
My baggage is stowed beneath the plane
And in the compartment above my cozy seat.
I secure the seat belt at the base of my lap
And pour through the magazines
In the seat pocket in front of me.
The stewards and stewardesses give their
Customary pre-flight instructions;
Then the plane begins to ascend
Into cloudy, blue skies.
The atmosphere in the sky is gorgeous
And breathtaking –
The earth below shrinks and the towns
And hills roll past our view.
What an amazing experience –
We are flying!
With the thrill of landing hours away,
Nothing but peace and serenity
High above the world…
