This poem was going to be made into a song, but I never had the money to do it.
What Will Happen When I Die?

Driving down the long dirt road,
It's a long way till the next town,
My girlfriend looks at me in frustration,
As she starts to ask me tons of questions.

Like what will happen when I die?
Will you remember me forever?
Will you cry each night, staring at the sky?
Or will you just move on and find someone better?
Will you dream of me every night when you fall asleep?
Would you please remember all the love... I have for you in me?

I try to hide the tears I cry as I slowly pull over,
I look to her and hold her close, her life is almost over.
The sadness overwhelms me, as I look into her eyes,
I finally grow calm enough to tell her as she sighs.

What will happen when you die?
I'll remember you forever.
I'll cry each night for you, as I stare up at the sky.
There is no one out there that could possibly be better.
Every night I'll dream of you when I fall asleep.
& I will always remember the love... that you shared with me.

We sat and held each other until the morning light.
I can still see the sadness, that had filled her eyes.
The air is cold and damp as I start the truck.
I can only cry when I start driving.... I'll never give her up.
