Maybe there is a life out there better than the one I am living.
Standing in the foreshadows of the dark, He looks into the light.
What is it he is trying to see?
“Can this light fulfill the needs I am longing for?”
He wonders.
He steps forward into a world so unclear.
“What is there, that I might fear?”
“The warmth I am feeling is unlike anything I have felt before.”
The darkness overcomes him ,
And again he back steps into
A world that is still so familiar.
“I am comfortable here, but yet I am still so lonely”
Longing for something to grasp onto
He takes another look into the light,
As he gradually steps forward he feels the warmth,
The happiness, the comfort,
all these things he felt, he never felt at one time before.
“What is this?”
He wonders.
As he humbly falls to his knees,
He hangs his head in shame,
Tears start to fall……
“What took me so long?”
He wonders.
He searches deep within for answers.
“If this was always here, what has kept me away?”
As doubt creeps in,
Darkness starts to haunt once again,
He fears the choice he might make.
The battle is continuous.
“Do I have the strength to choose what is right?”
With his last breath he whispers,
“God help me!”
