Poem about one of my friends.
Come.
Look me in the eye. Tell me what’s real.
Don’t turn your head
and expect me to follow your stare;
we’ve been playing this game for much too long.

Because you know that if you point it out I’ll
look there too,
and never let on that I know,
and just pretend it’s not a smokescreen.
And life goes on.
