The effects of 911 on the nation
It was the day the nation witnessed a dagger being plunged into America's heart,
Kidnapping thousands of lives in one fatal smash,
It was the day America fell to its knees,
Its economy shattered into millions of pieces before our eyes,
The shrapnel cut us all,
Wounding some worse then others,
We all gagged from the smoky air that escaped from beneath the seemingly lifeless structure as it collapsed helplessly in a dishevelled mess,
We all felt the icy blade penetrate something inside ourselves,
Cutting some deeper then others,
We all felt the burning flames lick our innocent flesh,
Damaging something within us all,
As a nation we joined hands,
We joined hands as we all witnessed a murder,
On September 11th 2001 America showered the nation with droplets of devastation,
On September 11th 2001 America was hijacked and brutally murdered,
On September 11th 2001 America was murdered but came back to life the very next day,
It picked itself up from its dusty grave and smiled,
America can never die because as it lay bleeding,
The Almighty 911 was dialled.
