HIGHWAY TO HOPE

I've been traveling down a highway, lost and alone.
The years have passed much too quickly as I roam
from place to place within my dreams' full scope.
It's time for me to look ahead for a highway to hope.

I have traveled through the valleys, fraught with fears,
and past the rivers of heartache and so many tears.
There is a new day dawning and there's time to pray
that I can find a highway filled with hope along the way.

All along the highway I've seen good times and bad,
if it wasn't for my Savior I would not realize all I've had.
I can treasure the memories of family and each friend
as I look further down the highway to my journey's end.

At the end of the highway where there's no turning back
I hope that there is no longing for the things that I lack.
I know Jesus will be waiting and He will extend His hand
to welcome me home in Heaven to His promised land.
