A poem that turned out much darker than intended.
Enigmatic darkness invading my dreams,
Daring my mind to tear at the seams.
Sending me falling away from the day,
Drinking in each and every dark ray.

Falling, I'm falling, spiraling down,
Diving, still thriving, I'll never drown.

Strange situations lie beyond my means,
Enigmatic darkness invading my dreams.
Denting my ego and tearing my heart,
Hopelessly falling back down to the start.

I climbed for so long to reach my new home,
Hardships and trials that could fill a whole tome.

Now the stars seem so far from my eyes
Enveloping my soul, how it wails and it cries.
Enigmatic darkness invading my dreams,
Doesn't my heart know its potential to beam?

My eyes close, my lungs lock, my world falls apart
Aching inside where there once was a heart.

The days die and I lie asleep on the bed
But am I alive or am I now dead?
I think of the way the stars used to gleam,
Now enigmatic darkness invades my dreams.
