A Poem For Travis


my always friend
even in silence

you always know
exactly what i mean

because my eyes tell you everything
even when i don't want them to

being with you
lends me safety

sometimes my lode-stone
you point when I'm overwhelmed

well-grounded
you become logic's voice-the loudest

belying your own goodness
you hide behind sarcasm

i know the truth
because you let me
